this artist, david symmonds, has this collection, “the oceanic experience,” (freud reference as well) on display in my favorite coffee house right now. the art is a collection of “archival pigment prints on hahnemüle paper from original pinhole photographs.” they document “the sensation of something limitless, unbounded, eternal that we share when in contact with the sea.” quite an experience, captured very well. click through to see more of the watercolor-esque works.
the heart is a stone and this is a stone that we throw
put your hand on this stone, it’s the stone of a home you know
they say we will go far, but they don’t know how far we’ll go
with our legs on the edge and our feet on the horizon
they say we can throw far but they don’t know how far we throw
i am in maine. today was one of the best days i’ve had in a long time. my friends are wonderful and the ocean is all.
